To promote the energy conservation and emission reduction, cleaner production, new energy and renewable energy using and energy and environment planning, in order to ease the contradiction between China's energy development and ecological environment, and to play the role of influencer for the China Environmental Science Society in energy and environment, the 10th Council of the Seventh Council of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences (August 6, 2015) established the Energy and Environment Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the affiliated unit is the Environmental Engineering Assessment Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The establishment of the Energy and Environment Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences has made up for the gaps in this field in the branches of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences and provided a platform for academic exchanges and cooperation among scientists and researchers in the field of energy and environment. Center for Environmental Education & Communications of Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (CEEC of MEP) is the center of a network of national environmental education and communication initiatives, a base for national environmental protection TV and film productions and training, and a window for international cooperation projects in the field of environmental education and communication. China Association of Environmental Protection Industry (CAEPI) Committee of Vehicle Emission Control (CVEC), which was founded in December 2015, worked on the coordination and research in motor vehicle pollution control technology industry, technical exchanging and training, technical advisory and information services around our country under the guidance of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The purpose of CVEC is to encourage and promote the latest emission control technology and its application, disseminate information on relevant laws and regulations of the State and related research results and methods of controlling motor vehicle emissions. CVEC is the bridge between government and business which can advance motor vehicle pollution control technology and development in China. Main member units of CVEC are companies and institutes registered in China (domestic and foreign) of motor vehicle exhaust catalytic converters (catalyst), engine management systems (EMS), diesel engine post-processing devices, and mufflers and canisters. There are more than 50 member units so far which represent a domestic production value of about 80%. As the partner of the 1st and 2nd "Blue Award", CVEC supported the award collection.
As an affiliated agency of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the committee was voluntarily formed by researchers and managers in VOCs pollution prevention and control, with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and registered according to the law. China Council for Industrial Environmental Protection (CIEP) is a comprehensive and independent national social organization founded upon the approval of the State Council and on a voluntary basis by talents from the industrial, environmental protection (EP), financial, scientific and technological sectors as well as academia.
